ADR-008: Frontend hosting

Status: Accepted Date: 2026-10-10

Context

The landing page, the docs site and the web app are Next.js. Vercel gives preview deploys and a Singapore region with no operations work. Vercel's Hobby plan is free but limited to non-commercial use.

Decision

Deploy fuisl/ceo-of-little-people, fuisl/coipe-docs and fuisl/coipe apps/web on Vercel, region sin1. The web app reaches the API through /api (ADR-006). Move to Vercel Pro, Cloudflare Pages, or the cluster before Coipe earns revenue.

Alternatives considered

• Cloudflare Pages for the landing page: free and allows commercial use. A good fallback.
• The web app in the cluster behind the tunnel: one deploy target, but more work before the pilot.

Consequences

• The Hobby plan's terms are a known gap to close before commercial use.
• Vercel is a subprocessor for every request to the web app.
